I’m a tad late on this train but here I am. I haven’t been blogging much lately as I’ve been struggling to get all of my thoughts together. I’ve had the privilege to witness some BLM protests and these are some questions that I have for those openly stating the phrase, “All lives matter” but seemingly do little to change the world.
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you wear a mask to protect EVERYONE from COVID-19?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be willingly social distancing?
- IF all lives matter, why aren’t you outraged about what’s going on at the border?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be fighting for universal healthcare?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be voting to change the minimum wage to a living one?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be in favor of funding programs that help low-income individuals and combat homelessness?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be practicing a vegan lifestyle in order to protect the lives of innocent animals?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you try to do SOMETHING about what’s happening to Muslims in China? Even if that meant something as little as showing awareness by sharing a story or a post?
- IF all lives matter, are you actively combating racism that happens against those who don’t look like you?
- IF all lives matter, wouldn’t you be in favor of funding social work instead of the police?
These are the things that I struggle to understand.
