Today is the anniversary of trying to ✨unalive✨ myself. Nine years ago I would not have dreamed of making it to the age of 17, nonetheless the age 25. I am proud of myself and grateful to the mental health professionals and friends who have helped me make it this far. Here is a list of 20 lessons that I’ve learned in the first half of my 20s.
- Journal
- Friendships change when your friends get married and have babies
- Limit who you gossip to because talking to the wrong people will bite you in the ass
- Go to therapy
- Don’t involve yourself in drama
- Low-key parties at the house are superior to clubbing
- If the treat makes life bearable for the day or week- it is a necessity
- As a girly, making friends in the bar bathroom is the cutest thing you will experience in womanhood
- Buy a Waterpik if flossing feels impossible to do
- Kiss the ass of your boss. You may not like them, but they can make your life hell.
- Your coworkers aren’t your friends
- Run the dishwasher every day/as often as it makes sense. Having a kitchen with few dirty dishes makes it feel less overwhelming to clean
- Calories don’t matter food is meant to be enjoyed
- Party while you are young, but don’t let it get in the way of having a productive life.
- Especially when you are traveling, keep a phone charger in your purse for emergencies
- If you work in the service industry, pick up your cash tips every day. They will get stolen at some point or another
- Season your food and use more spices than your instinct tells you to use.
- Trust your instinct when it comes to men and situations in general
- Don’t post when you are heated/overshare online
- Comparison is the thief of joy

As always, love you all.
